Crocheted Shrug for Granddaughter

When I received the Winter 2011 Issue of Interweave Crochet, I knew I had to make the Aslan Shrug.  Here's the first one (for my granddaughter):

I'll be making more of these...

  1. Looks hard to do but very cute.

I'm sure your granddaughter was happy. And that's the most important thing.

  2. Thanks - actually, it's not difficult - it's rated "easy" in the magazine. The included chart makes the center motif really simple if you can read charts.

  3. Looks very pretty!!Does the pattern go up to a larger size?

  4. Ken, yes sizes in the magazine for 32-34, 36-38, 40-42, 44-46, 48-50 and 52-54. The pattern calls for a bulky weight yarn, but I used my standby Caron One Pound stash and a smaller hook than called for - I used an "H" hook for this attempt. It actually turned out a bit large - I've made another with some lighter yarn and an even smaller hook.
